Will Flames Kiprusoff Play for Finland in Upcoming Olympics?

With the Vancouver 2010 winter Olympic games coming up, Miikka Kiprusoff of the Calgary Flames is saying that he will only play for his home country, Finland, if he is named the number one goalie for the team. The 33-year old from Turku, Finland missed out on the 2006 winter Olympics and winning a silver medal when he bowed out of those games.
Antero Niittymaki suited up for Finland in the 2006 Olympics. Whether or not Finland would have done any better with Kiprusoff in the net is anyone’s guess. We will have to wait and see if we see a Kiprusoff jersey in the Finns’ net in Vancouver.
